Scientists search for deformed frogs

The Craig Daily Press reported yesterday on a study surveying Colorado’s frogs for the types of deformities that have been found in other parts of the West and Midwest. The scientists conducting the study, who hail from the University of Colorado and the University of Alaska at Fairbanks, are particularly interested in a specific parasite that was found in chickens in northwest Colorado in the 1930s and is suspected to cause deformities in frogs. So far, no signs of the parasite have been found in Colorado.
