Allard, Salazar split on Pinon Canyon

Colorado Sens. Wayne Allard (R) and Ken Salazar (D) are at it again. The pair just can’t seem to agree on the Iraq War or the Army’s proposed expansion of its Pinon Canyon training site. According to an article in today’s Colorado Springs Gazette, Allard has renewed his criticism of Salazar’s support for a moratorium on Army spending for the expansion plans, calling it “radical.” Although Allard is a member of the conference committee on the military construction bill, which includes Salazar’s amendment blocking the spending, Allard may not have enough support to strip the amendment from the bill. “We’ll just have to wait and see,” Allard said.
