Western resource issues ignored by presidential candidates

Despite two debates in Las Vegas, the presidential candidates have largely ignored issues important to the West, including the federal government’s role in managing much of the region’s land and water, the Denver Post reports. Only Democratic candidates Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton responded to a Post questionnaire on water and land-use questions, promising a more “balanced approach” to energy development.
