Solar bill heads to House

The state Senate unanimously approved a bill today that would make it easier and more cost-effective for homes and businesses to install solar panels. Senate Bill 117, authored by state Sen. Shawn Mitchell (R), would cap permit fees charged by some cities when property owners go solar. The measure now heads to the state Hpuse, where it will be sponsored by Rep. Frank McNulty (R).
