Denver named a ‘Solar America City’
Posted by egable on March 28th, 2008 filed in Renewable energyEnergy Secretary Samuel Bodman named Denver and 11 other cities across the country “Solar America Cities” today at a conference in the Mile High City, committing the Energy Department to providing up to $2.4 million for projects aiming to make electricity from solar photovoltaics cost-competitive with conventional electricity by 2015. Combined with funding from industry and each city, total investment in all 12 cities is estimated to be $12.1 million.
The awards announced today build upon the $5.4 million in financial and technical assistance awarded to 13 Solar America Cities selected last year.
