House passes omnibus bill
Posted by egable on April 30th, 2008 filed in Endangered species, WaterThe House of Representatives yesterday passed the Consolidated Natural Resources Act, which combines some 60 bills, including legislation that would authorize the Platte River Recovery Implementation Program. The program allows Colorado, Nebraska and Wyoming to work with the federal government, water providers and other stakeholders on recovering endangered and threatened species in the Platte River Basin.
“This step allows us to move immediately to take direct actions to recover the whooping crane, least tern, piping plover and pallid sturgeon,” Harris Sherman, executive director of the Colorado Department of Natural Resources, said in a statement.
