Comments on energy rules due Thursday
Posted by egable on May 28th, 2008 filed in Energy developmentThursday is the deadline for the public to submit written comments on the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission’s draft rules for energy development.
The state is drafting the new rules in response to legislation passed last year that required the commission to minimize impacts to public health and wildlife from energy development. Industry groups have criticized the rulemaking process for moving too fast and expressed concern that the new rules could severely hamper the state’s energy industry.
The COGCC will also hold public hearings to gather input on the new rules in Grand Junction on June 10 and in Denver the week of June 23.
