Gov. Bill Ritter’s (D) proposed severance tax increase, which would eliminate a more than $200 million tax credit for oil and gas companies, could serve as a bellwether for his 2010 re-election bid, according to political observers interviewed by the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel.
